XING Mobility Joins the Maritime Battery Forum as a Pioneer in Immersion-cooled Battery Technology

The Maritime Battery Forum (MBF) is proud to welcome XING Mobility as the newest member of its global community of maritime battery enablers. As a pioneer in immersion-cooled battery technology, XING Mobility brings cutting-edge expertise in battery safety, thermal management, and high-performance energy storage that will help accelerate the adoption of reliable and sustainable battery solutions across the maritime industry.

Immersion-cooled Battery Systems

Founded in 2015, XING Mobility is a Taiwan-based technology company specializing in immersion-cooled battery systems for demanding applications including marine, heavy machinery, energy storage, and high-performance vehicles. The company's proprietary IMMERSIO™ platform delivers high energy density, exceptional thermal management, and industry-leading safety by fully immersing battery cells in a dielectric cooling fluid, allowing batteries to operate under the most challenging environmental and operational conditions.

Building on experience gained in the automotive sector, including the development of Taiwan's first pure electric supercar, Miss R, XING has successfully transferred its battery expertise into industries where reliability and safety are paramount. Today, the company is expanding rapidly across global markets, combining Taiwan's advanced engineering capabilities with strong European partnerships to support the next generation of electrified transport.

Driving Innovation in Maritime Electrification

XING Mobility entered the maritime sector in 2023 through its collaboration with Porrima, supplying battery technology for P111, a pioneering zero-emission vessel powered by hydrogen, solar energy, and battery storage. The project demonstrated how advanced battery systems can work alongside multiple clean energy sources to deliver highly efficient marine propulsion.

Since then, the company has expanded its presence throughout the European maritime market with the support of its long-term partner Nordic Booster, delivering battery systems for vessels ranging from 6-metre workboats to 32-metre commercial vessels. These projects have enabled XING to further refine its marine battery technology while responding to the diverse operational requirements of the maritime industry.

Advanced Battery Technology for Demanding Marine Applications

At the core of XING Mobility’s innovation is its advanced immersion-cooled battery technology, featuring active fire suppression beyond battery safety standards. Engineered for mission-critical applications, it delivers industry-leading safety, exceptional durability, and uncompromising performance in the most demanding operating environments. The company's latest battery systems deliver 3C continuous power capability, double the energy density of previous generations, and a modular architecture that can be scaled from small vessels to multi-megawatt-hour installations.

Unlike conventional battery cooling methods, immersion cooling ensures every battery cell is cooled evenly, significantly improving thermal stability, extending battery life, and reducing the risk of thermal runaway. This approach enables safer operation while supporting higher charging and discharging rates, critical requirements for commercial marine applications.

Contributing to the Global Community of Maritime Battery Enablers

XING Mobility brings to the Maritime Battery Forum nearly a decade of experience developing battery systems for applications where reliability is critical and failure is not an option. Beyond its technology, the company contributes a unique combination of Taiwan's battery engineering expertise and Europe's growing maritime electrification ecosystem.

Through continued collaboration with MBF members, XING aims to support the development of safer battery systems, improved thermal management technologies, and practical solutions that enable wider adoption of battery-powered vessels across commercial, industrial, and offshore sectors.

The conversations happening inside MBF are exactly where we want to be. What excites me most is seeing what becomes possible when deep engineering meets deep maritime expertise—that’s the combination that moves the industry forward.
— Sean Chiang, Head of Europe Office, XING Mobility
