We Can Take More Advanced Assignments - Austevoll Elektro

Austevoll Elektro is preparing for the future with the goal of taking an even stronger position for the marine industries. New owners, new management, new hires and an organization in strong development. Austevoll Elektro is preparing for the future with the goal of taking an even stronger position for the marine industries. Austevoll Elektro is ready to take on even more and more advanced assignments, says CEO Sigve Gokstad

In April this year, FDA Niklas was handed over from Fitjar Mekaniske Verksted to Finnsnes Dykk & Anleggservice. On this vessel, Austevoll Elektro had an extensive assignment as system integrator. The delivery from Austevoll Elektro consisted of main AC and DC panels, 1445kWh battery system, automation and power management systems (IAS/PMS/EMS), propulsion engines, thruster engines, thruster control and shore power system.

This is perhaps one of the most exciting eras in Austevoll Elektro's history. What is certain is that an incredible amount has happened in the company since SEAM took over as the new owner in January of this year – and more is on the way. Austevoll Elektro is aggressively investing in strengthening its already good position in the market.

Among the news we find:

  • SEAM are the new and proud owners of Austevoll Elektro

  • Sigve Gokstad is the new CEO

  • Several new employees have been recruited

  • New employees will be recruited this fall.

  • New internal organization is in place

  • Ambitions for further growth are clear

– We are gearing up for the future. The ambition is to be among the leading electrical companies – and system integrators – in Norway for the marine industries, says Gokstad.

Complex system integrator

Austevoll Elektro supplies electrical solutions for boats and ships in the aquaculture, fisheries and offshore sectors. Shore power for vessels – both domestically and internationally – is another important area of focus.

It's not just about manufacturing the products themselves, but about assembling them into complete systems. These are solutions that must function 24/7 – often under demanding conditions – and are critically important to customers.

This could, for example, be vessels that are to be operated hybrid or fully electric. The same applies in aquaculture, where fish farms need hybrid systems to reduce the use of diesel generators.

– As a system integrator, we can handle very demanding deliveries – from design to finished solution. We have extensive experience in combining standardized systems with customization where required. This gives us both efficiency and flexibility, says Gokstad.

More than 50 years of experience and a staff of highly competent and stable employees are perhaps Austevoll Elektro's greatest advantages.

– We have a concept with fixed standard solutions, but are also very good at adapting. If the customer has specific wishes, we find the solutions. We have extensive experience, and our systems receive good feedback in the market. We feel that Austevoll Elektro has a quality seal, says Gokstad.

It's not just about delivering. The systems are followed up after production and during the operational phase.

– All deliveries undergo the necessary tests and certifications. We assist in the installation phase and provide service all year round – in fact, around the world. Recently, we have had projects in Portugal, Dubai, Argentina, Thailand and in addition to home along the entire Norwegian coast, says Gokstad.
