The newest ship in the Silversea Cruise fleet features a new hybrid propulsion technology that reduces #Emissions significantly compared to the previous class of ships!

A strong impact on making this happen was the installation of a 1.5 MWh battery system from #Freudenberg e-Power Systems which is characterized by a high cycle stability.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐚 𝐬𝐨 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥?

👉 Her batteries provide the 2 MW of propulsion power required for fully electric maneuvering in harbor. This makes the Silver Nova emission-neutral in port!

👉 The batteries enable the main drive to operate more efficiently by reacting to rapid load changes through charging and discharging.

👉 Compared to conventional propulsion systems, the new hybrid battery system leads to a significant increase in energy efficiency. Accordingly, the build of the next vessel at #MeyerWerft in Papenburg for Silversea Cruises is already ongoing.
